Business Development Manager

Overview

In this role you drive growth by aligning Microchip’s cutting-edge semiconductor solutions with customer needs. You’ll bridge field sales, applications engineering, and business units to enable access to BU resources for meaningful innovation. You’ll shape strategic partnerships, monitor markets, and support design wins across global teams. This is a chance to influence product strategy and expand our Total System Solutions footprint in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the business unit’s growth efforts across target markets and foster long-term strategic partnerships
• Collaborate with sales and product teams to deliver tailored Total System Solutions (TSS) for clients
• Capture feedback to influence new product development across engineering, marketing, and product management
• Monitor competitive landscapes and conduct market analysis to guide investments in growth areas
• Represent Microchip at industry forums, trade shows, and technical events to build brand presence
• Partner with field sales and applications engineers to support design wins and accelerate revenue
• Serve as a strategic liaison between business units and regional teams to shape account plans and growth strategies
• Facilitate efficient communication between BU and field teams to reduce redundancy

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (BSEE required; MSEE preferred)
• 7+ years’ experience in business development, strategic sales, or product line management in semiconductors
• Proven expertise in embedded solutions, semiconductor technologies, and systems-level architecture
• Exceptional ability to engage cross-functional teams and manage complex client relationships
• Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
