Senior Urban Drainage Modeller – Water Sector

Overview

In this role you will deliver complex urban drainage modelling for Scottish Water and other regulated clients from our Edinburgh hub. You will build and refine InfoWorks ICM models to inform strategic and operational decisions, and coordinate multi-disciplinary project delivery to meet quality, schedule and budget targets. You will contribute to client discussions, reports and planning while mentoring junior modellers. This is a part of a major framework programme shaping Scotland’s water and flood resilience for years to come, with a strong emphasis on engineering excellence and digital approaches.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality urban drainage modelling across regulated frameworks
• Develop, calibrate and analyse InfoWorks ICM models for strategic/operational decisions
• Coordinate project delivery to meet technical quality, programme and budget objectives
• Help clients improve water quality, reduce flood risk, and build resilient communities
• Influence investment planning and shape sustainable infrastructure
• Contribute to client meetings, technical reports and project planning
• Combine engineering excellence with digital technology to develop innovative approaches
• Mentor junior modellers and share knowledge and best practice

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• Strong experience delivering urban drainage modelling projects
• Excellent working knowledge of InfoWorks ICM
• Experience coordinating project delivery and managing technical outputs
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Able to mentor and support less experienced team members
• Membership of, or working towards, CIWEM or ICE
