Assistant Site Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead site teams on the Anglian Water infrastructure project, deputising for the Site Manager as you develop towards that position. You will promote a collaborative, high-performing culture and ensure safe, efficient delivery of construction activities. You will manage labour, plant and subcontractors to meet programme and quality targets, while building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. The role offers the chance to drive safety, productivity and continuous improvement within a major civil works programme.

Responsibilities

• Lead site teams by example to foster a collaborative, high-performing and inclusive culture
• Support safe and efficient planning, coordination and delivery of construction activities on site
• Manage labour, plant, materials and subcontractors to achieve programme, quality and compliance requirements
• Build strong relationships with clients, customers and stakeholders through proactive communication
• Drive continuous improvement in safety, productivity, innovation and development of site teams

Key requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or similar on medium-sized construction projects
• Essential certifications: SMSTS, CSCS Card, First Aid at Work, Temporary Works Supervisor
• Strong understanding of construction techniques, programme and resource management, and commercial awareness
• Good knowledge of SHEQ requirements, subcontractor management and site compliance standards
• Full UK Driving Licence and strong IT/computer literacy; water sector experience and additional certifications advantageous
