Principal Systems Engineer 1849

Overview

In this role you will shape and integrate system changes, working closely with stakeholders to define requirements and evaluate trade-offs. You will design new functionality within an existing system and develop verification, validation, and integration plans. You’ll lead test planning and execution, document design reviews, and ensure proper management of product data and change processes. This position offers impact through cross-disciplinary collaboration in a defence-focused consultancy environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders to capture and define system change requirements
• Assess cost and functional performance trade-offs to evaluate proposed solutions
• Design and integrate new functionality into an existing system
• Create test plans and requirements for verification and validation of subsystems
• Execute and analyze test plans and results
• Develop integration plans for unit integration into the full system
• Manage documentation to support design review activities

Key requirements

• Knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle in problem definition, systems architecture, and I&V (integration, verification and validation)
• Strong interpersonal skills for steering technical discussions
• Product Data Management and Change Management using Teamcenter/SharePoint/Confluence
• Self-motivated with problem-solving aptitude and strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
