Assistant Logistics Manager

Overview

In this role you support the logistics leadership team to ensure sites have the facilities, resources and support they need. You will champion health and safety, plan and organise labour efficiently, and coach teams to achieve goals. You will participate in welfare and electrical power discussions, drive environmental improvements and carbon reduction, and keep multiple welfare setups and records well organized. This is a hands-on position that contributes to major infrastructure projects and requires cross‑site coordination and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Promote high standards of health and safety and provide alerts/briefings when required
• Plan and organise labour to use resources efficiently and cost-effectively
• Support and oversee team performance, coaching colleagues to achieve goals
• Attend site meetings to understand welfare requirements including electrical power provision
• Drive environmental improvements and pursue new approaches to reducing carbon emissions
• Plan and coordinate multiple welfare set-ups and keep project teams informed
• Maintain accurate daily records and complete all required administration on time

Key requirements

• Knowledge of groundworks
• Experience with HIAB or crane lifting
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to lead, coordinate and organise others
• Ability to work to tight timeframes and manage changing priorities
• Positive, practical and solutions-focused approach
• Good Microsoft Office skills
• Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively across the Anglian Water region
