Overview
As a Senior Civil Engineer in Arup’s Civil Engineering team, you will lead the development and delivery of civil design solutions for a diverse portfolio of nationwide projects. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate design packages, manage interfaces, and supervise calculations, drawings and reports across the project lifecycle. You will support planning, programme and commercial performance while mentoring junior engineers and promoting quality, innovation and digital engineering. Responsibilities
- Lead development and delivery of civil engineering design solutions across complex infrastructure projects
- Coordinate design packages and manage technical interfaces
- Oversee preparation and review of calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports
- Support project planning, programme and commercial performance
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across civil, energy, environment, planning and digital disciplines
- Promote quality, innovation and continuous improvement, including BIM and data-led design
Key requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Experience in civil engineering design and project delivery across site development, utilities, energy or major infrastructure
- Strong understanding of design standards and industry best practices
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing project interfaces
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD or similar software
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
- Interest in digital engineering, BIM and emerging technologies
- CEng status with ICE or demonstrable senior-level engineering experience
