ECC Project Manager

Overview

As ECC Project Manager you drive end-to-end delivery of capital projects from appraisal to handover, aligning with HM Treasury governance. You lead delivery teams, manage stakeholders, and safeguard commercial performance and risk. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to keep the programme on track and ensure client satisfaction. This role sits in the Advisory and Programme Delivery unit, offering exposure to large-scale water and environment initiatives and the cost intelligence service. You will shape project outcomes that transform clients’ businesses and communities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects across appraisal, planning, detailed design, construction and delivery phases in compliance with governance processes
• Lead delivery teams and manage key stakeholders to clarify requirements and priorities
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and opportunities
• Be accountable for commercial objectives, including timely reporting and information delivery
• Maintain effective client and programme communications
• Own the project programme and coordinate updates with multidisciplinary teams

Key requirements

• Degree in engineering or project management
• APM or Prince2 professional qualification
• Full membership or progressing towards membership of a chartered body (e.g., MAPM, MCIWEM, MICE, MCIOB, MRICS)
• Project management experience across multiple disciplines and contract/procurement
• Experience managing projects in the Water and Environment Sector
• Experience with NEC contracts and practical application
