Private Client Lending Operations Team Leader

Overview

In this Team Lead role within PCLO, you steer a high-performing lending operations team to deliver seamless client experiences while upholding strong risk controls. You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, coach and develop staff, and drive process improvements across lending activities for high-net-worth clients. You’ll balance client outcomes with governance requirements and manage key stakeholder relationships to support the lending journey. Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day delivery of operational activities to meet client and business expectations
• Coach and develop team members through training plans and knowledge sharing
• Act as escalation point for operational queries ensuring practical solutions
• Manage team capacity, leave, workload prioritisation, and regular team meetings
• Authorize team activities in line with controls and governance
• Identify and drive process improvements for efficiency and service quality
• Represent Lending Operations in internal and external stakeholder forums
• Support operational risk management, MI reporting, and third-party oversight

Key requirements

• Experience managing workflow and approving operational work
• Proven coaching and development capabilities
• Strong knowledge of mortgage and personal lending processes and regulatory obligations
• Ability to balance client service with operational risk management
• Effective relationship-building with stakeholders at all levels
