Senor Project Planner

Overview

In this role you will manage the end-to-end planning lifecycle for complex UK engineering programmes from proposal to execution. You will work within the Programme Management team at the Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Ampthill, enabling delivery through integrated schedules and cost baselines. You will interface with management and customers as the planning integrator, addressing risks, conflicts, and performance metrics to drive program success. This is a chance to shape planning practices in a Defence/technology context while enjoying a 4-day week, hybrid work, and collaboration with top UK engineers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain end-to-end planning lifecycle from proposal through execution
• Lead proposal planning and create planning artifacts for solicitations
• Interface with program management and customers as the planning integrator
• Validate cost and schedule integration for performance management
• Ensure vertical and horizontal integration of schedules and artefacts with LM’s command media
• Model and measure risks and opportunities within schedule and cost baselines
• Resolve schedule conflicts and implement workarounds
• Utilise performance metrics to inform the programme team and improve performance
• Maintain IMS status on a weekly and monthly basis
• Maintain the Performance Measurement Baseline and support Project Business Rhythm
• Generate Schedule Information for client and management reviews

Key requirements

• Experience as a Project Planner or PMO Planning role
• Experience with Primavera P6 or similar planning software
• Experience managing resource-loaded schedules
• Experience with Earned Value Management and Critical Path Management
• Confident under pressure and committed to best planning practices
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to quickly adapt to new tools, systems, and processes
