Associate Director MEP Cost Management – Real Estate

Overview

As Associate Director in the MEP Real Estate team, you will lead cost consultancy activities across a diverse real estate portfolio, shaping project economics and client outcomes. You will mentor teams, drive performance, and ensure high-quality delivery while advancing the firm’s reputation in the MEP space. This role combines strategic guidance with hands-on cost management on complex projects, contributing to Turner & Townsend’s mission to transform challenges into opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost consultancy activities: feasibility estimating, cost planning, contract procurement, tender documentation, tender evaluation, value engineering, commercial management, fee generation, dispute resolution, post-contract management
• Promote a safe and secure working environment in line with company values
• Foster team engagement, collaboration and high performance
• Drive performance standards through effective communication, coaching and performance management
• Contribute to projects requiring technical evaluation, analysis and problem solving
• Provide technical guidance to team members on project and technical matters
• Clearly communicate project scope, roles and responsibilities to support successful delivery
• Oversee and manage service delivery to achieve high-quality outcomes and client satisfaction

Key requirements

• Proven track record delivering high-quality cost management/quantity surveying in the MEP space
• Professionally qualified (RICS or similar)
• Degree or HNC level qualification
• Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects
• Experience delivering MEP elements for clients
• Knowledge and contacts within the MEP supply chain (tier 1 and below)
• Utilising digital software for cost management delivery
• Commercially astute with good negotiation skills
