Overview

In this Data Analyst role, you will transform complex data into actionable insights to support strategic decision-making on a high-profile Defence programme. You will work in a multidisciplinary Agile team, collaborating with clients, engineers, and business analysts to structure and analyze data and deliver analytical products. You’ll develop dashboards and analytical solutions, while ensuring data quality and governance across the data lifecycle. The role offers exposure to modern data platforms, AI-enabled capabilities, and opportunities to impact real-world defence outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
• Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical products for evidence-based decisions
• Elicit and translate business requirements into data-driven solutions
• Collaborate with data engineers to access and prepare data from multiple sources
• Support development and validation of analytical models and AI-enabled solutions
• Ensure data quality, traceability, and documentation across outputs
• Participate in Agile delivery activities and stakeholder engagement
• Present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
• Promote data literacy and knowledge sharing across project teams
• Support UX/UI design of digital tooling

Key requirements

• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Analytics, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, or related discipline
• Experience analysing complex datasets
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience using SQL for data extraction and analysis
• Ability communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Understanding data modelling and data management principles
• Experience working in multidisciplinary delivery teams
