Senior Applied AI Engineer – UK (Remote) – GenAI, LLMs, RAG & Data Engineering

I’m working with a growing technology consultancy that’s making significant investment in AI and looking to hire a Senior Applied AI Engineer to help build innovative, real-world AI solutions for enterprise clients.
This isn’t a research or proof-of-concept role. You’ll be focused on designing, building and deploying AI applications that solve genuine business problems and deliver measurable value. From LLM-powered applications and RAG solutions to intelligent automation and machine learning systems, you’ll be working on projects that are used in production and trusted by end users.
You’ll join a collaborative team of engineers, architects and AI specialists, helping organisations unlock the potential of their data through modern AI technologies. You’ll have the opportunity to work across a range of enterprise AI initiatives, helping clients turn emerging AI capabilities into scalable, production-ready solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building and deploying LLM-based applications and Generative AI solutions
- Designing and developing production-ready RAG solutions
- Creating scalable data pipelines and AI-powered services
- Applying software engineering best practices to AI development
- Supporting the deployment, monitoring and optimisation of production AI systems
- Working closely with clients and internal teams to solve complex technical challenges
- Contributing to reusable frameworks, tools and best practices that accelerate AI delivery
What We’re Looking For
- Strong Python development experience with a track record of building and deploying production-grade applications
- Experience developing and deploying LLM-based applications
- A background in Data Engineering and Software Engineering
- Hands-on experience building RAG solutions
- Experience taking AI solutions from proof of concept into production environments
- Experience delivering AI, Machine Learning or Data-driven solutions in commercial environments
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP
- A passion for building solutions that are scalable, secure and production-ready
Experience with technologies such as Databricks, MLflow, LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel or modern AI platforms would be advantageous, but isn’t essential.
