A growing, investment-backed UK Real Estate business is hiring a Cloud Platform Engineer to help build a more secure, automated and well-governed cloud environment.
This is a newly created, hands-on role with genuine ownership. An MSP currently handles much of the day-to-day infrastructure and support work, but the business wants to bring more control of its Azure platform in-house. You’ll lead platform improvements, set the technical direction for your work and draw on the MSP for support where needed.
The initial focus is Azure, Terraform and Azure DevOps: moving away from manual configuration, building reliable deployment pipelines and putting practical governance in place. There’s also scope to improve Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration as the platform matures.
- Build and improve Azure infrastructure using Terraform and infrastructure as code
- Develop and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for platform changes
- Own Azure Policy guardrails and help organise resources into management groups
- Automate access, permissions and administrative processes across Azure and Entra ID
- Embed security checks and controls into deployment workflows
- Work with infrastructure, security, data and delivery teams, as well as the MSP
- Support platform issues when needed, while focusing primarily on building and improving the environment
- Hands- on experience building Azure infrastructure – not just supporting an existing setup
- Strong Terraform and Azure DevOps pipeline experience
- Knowledge of Entra ID, access controls, Conditional Access and Azure Policy
- A sound grasp of cloud security principles, including least-privilege access and secure service authentication
- The confidence to take ownership, work across teams and turn requirements into working solutions
- An infrastructure background alongside platform or DevOps experience would be particularly relevant
Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, Copilot or AI tooling would be useful. Kubernetes is not required; the business generally favours managed and SaaS solutions.
Cloud Platform Engineer | Why this role is interesting
You’ll join a small team at the point where it is building dedicated cloud platform capability. Rather than working through a queue of tickets, you’ll have the opportunity to shape how Azure infrastructure is deployed, governed and maintained. There’s room for someone who has already held broad ownership – or who has the hands-on skills and drive to step into it.
If you’re a Cloud Platform Engineer, Azure Engineer or infrastructure-focused DevOps Engineer who enjoys building rather than simply maintaining, please get in touch.
