Are you a Bricklayer, Carpenter or Construction Tradesperson looking to get off the tools and move into a rewarding teaching role, with full training provided and a clear route into education?
This is a permanent position with a well-established FE College where you will receive full teaching and learner-support training, allowing you to build a long-term career in education while delivering hands-on, practical training to learners.
You will be based at the main campus, delivering predominantly practical Level 1 and Level 2 construction skills training. The role is primarily focused on Brickwork, although candidates from a Carpentry background will also be considered. You’ll support learners with varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs or behavioural challenges, with limited classroom-based teaching.
This role would suit a practical construction professional who wants stability, structured hours and the chance to develop new skills, transitioning into teaching with full support and training provided.
The Role:
- Delivering predominantly practical Level 1 and Level 2 construction skills training
- Primarily Brickwork focused (Carpentry background also considered)
- Supporting learners with varying abilities, including additional learning needs
- Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week (main campus based)
- One-stage interview: 45-minute interview including a 15-minute micro-teach
The Person:
- Level 3 qualified in Brickwork / Carpentry (Level 2 considered with substantial industry experience)
- Strong hands-on trade background with the ability to demonstrate techniques
- Patient and confident supporting learners with different needs
