SEN Teacher
TeacherActive are proud to be working with a specialist SEN provision in Maidstone, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are looking for a dedicated, caring and experienced SEN Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join the team from January.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher who thrives in a supportive environment and is confident managing challenging behaviour while creating a safe, positive and engaging learning experience for all pupils.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
- Strong classroom leadership and behaviour management skills.
- Experience planning, preparing and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Confidence managing challenging behaviour using positive, consistent strategies.
- A kind, caring and patient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the classroom, ensuring a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet pupils’ individual needs.
- Support pupils with SEMH needs, promoting emotional regulation, confidence and positive behaviour.
- Implement effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
- Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching approaches accordingly.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff and school leadership.
