This is a temporary opportunity for an initial period of 2-3 months, overseeing a small supported living service and leading a team of staff supporting four young people aged 16-18.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and motivated social care professional to develop their leadership experience, take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service and ensure the team delivers safe, high-quality and person-centred support.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a positive, supportive environment where young people are encouraged to develop their independence, build essential life skills and work towards their individual goals.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and support the staff team, including supervision, performance management and development.
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the service.
  • Ensure safeguarding and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Maintain high standards of care, support planning, risk assessments and record keeping.
  • Work closely with social workers, families, education providers and other professionals.
  • Support young people to develop independence and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Manage incidents and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
  • Ensure the service remains safe, well maintained and compliant.
  • Support rotas, staffing and budget management.
  • Participate in the management on-call rota.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A relevant qualification in social care, health & social care, youth work or a related field.
  • Previous management or senior-level experience.
  • Experience of line managing and leading staff.
  • Experience working with young people, ideally within supported accommodation, social care or a similar setting.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills.
  • A calm, professional and positive approach.
  • Availability to start ASAP and commit to the 2-3 month temporary contract.

Experience of working within an Ofsted-regulated service and knowledge of the Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023 would be desirable.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.
