They are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their team on a permanent, dedicated day shift pattern. This is a fantastic opportunity for a multi-skilled engineer looking to step away from unsociable night or weekend shift rotations while securing a highly competitive salary within a stable, modern production environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance: Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules across all production machinery, plant equipment, and facility utilities.
- Reactive Fault-Finding: Respond swiftly to mechanical and electrical breakdowns on active production lines to minimise downtime.
- Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems, hydraulic circuits, conveyor networks, and automated mechanical assemblies.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring equipment faults and implement mechanical improvements to boost machine reliability and efficiency.
- Installation Support: Assist with the installation, testing, and commissioning of new production machinery and facility assets.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities are logged accurately and executed in strict accordance with site health, safety, and hygiene standards.
What You Need to Succeed
- Qualifications: A recognised time-served apprenticeship or relevant technical qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Maintenance, or Mechatronics).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years of practical maintenance experience operating within a high-volume manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, or heavy industrial environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong multi-skilled capabilities, with a solid grasp of both mechanical repairs and basic electrical fault-finding.
- Key Traits: A proactive worker who can solve technical problems under pressure and communicate effectively with production operators and shift supervisors.
