Hays are working with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their established Complex Projects team. Your new role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with clients, stakeholders, contractors and other construction professionals, supporting major projects and taking responsibility for smaller commissions.Your responsibilities will include:
- Contract administration of NEC4 contracts across varying main options
- Budgeting, forecasting, risk management and cost reporting
- Processing payments and responding within contractual timescales
- Cost planning and reporting in line with project programmes
- Liaising directly with clients and key stakeholders
- Attending sites and completing interim valuations where required
- Assisting with the assessment and agreement of final accounts
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
What you’ll need to succeed
You will ideally have:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience within Quantity Surveying or Cost Management
- Knowledge of standard methods of measurement
- Strong commercial, numerical and communication skills
- Good IT skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider project team
- An understanding of relevant Health & Safety requirements
- NEC3 or NEC4 contract experience would be advantageous
- An interest in working towards Chartered status with RICS or an equivalent professional body
