SEND TA with Personal Care and Moving and Handling

Overview

In this SEND Teaching Assistant role, you support children with complex needs to access learning in specialist settings. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to foster a safe, inclusive learning environment. You help with personal care and moving and handling, while promoting communication, independence and wellbeing. This role offers varied placements across the Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley areas and a chance to make a meaningful difference in pupils’ day-to-day progress.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with complex learning needs and a range of additional needs
• Assist with personal care, maintaining dignity and respect
• Apply moving and handling techniques safely
• Encourage communication, independence and emotional wellbeing
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other professionals
• Help pupils participate in classroom activities and celebrate achievements
