Overview

In this role you will advise and manage a varied Court of Protection caseload within a growing Private Client team. You will work closely with senior lawyers, handle matters from instruction to conclusion, and contribute to the department’s growth. The role offers exposure to related private client work and a clear path for career progression in a supportive environment. You will engage with clients, prepare documentation, and support business development efforts, all within a friendly firm across Somerset.

Responsibilities

• Manage a personal Court of Protection caseload from instruction to conclusion
• Maintain regular client contact and provide tailored advice
• Prepare legal documentation and ensure timely progression of matters
• Support business development and contribute to department growth
• Potential exposure to broader private client work (estate/trust admin, will drafting, LPA)
• Collaborate with senior lawyers and work both independently and in a team

Key requirements

• Recent experience managing own Court of Protection caseload
• Strong communication and client care skills
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Oyez Forms experience beneficial but not essential
• Full UK driving licence
