Senior Sustainability Consultant – Infrastructure

Overview

In this role you will lead and deliver sustainability strategies for major infrastructure and development projects, guiding teams through design, procurement, construction and operation stages. You’ll work within Arup’s Environment, Climate and Sustainability Services to embed sustainability across delivery, auditing contractors and coordinating multi-disciplinary experts. You’ll also develop proposals, manage budgets and present findings to clients, contributing to Arup’s mission of sustainable, high-impact design.

Responsibilities

• Lead sustainability strategies, frameworks and appraisals for projects
• Audit and coordinate environmental/sustainability requirements with design/construction teams
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary specialists and manage deliverables
• Accountability for quality and budget control across projects
• Assist with proposals, marketing and client presentations
• Deliver environmental sustainability deliverables and track budgets/resources
• Deliver presentations, workshops and training to teams and clients
• Embed sustainability in project delivery teams and major infrastructure/planning projects

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in a relevant field (Sustainability, Climate Change, Environmental Engineering/Management or Geography)
• Practitioner or Full Member of ISEP or equivalent
• Chartered or working towards Chartered Environmentalist
• ISEP Registered Environmental Auditor advantageous
• Qualified or aiming to become a qualified BREEAM Infrastructure Project Assessor
• Knowledge of delivering sustainability in major infrastructure/master planning projects
• Understanding of UK legislation and Environmental Impact Assessment
• Strong report-writing and communication skills
