Assoc Director, R&D Information Systems

Overview

In this role, you will lead the strategy, delivery, and optimization of Clinical Systems for R&D, partnering with stakeholders to translate needs into scalable technology solutions. You will oversee data, integrations, and analytics capabilities, ensuring compliance and quality across GxP environments. You’ll manage multiple projects, coach a team, and steer cross-functional initiatives that improve clinical operations and decision-making. This is a mission-driven opportunity to shape how data and technology accelerate therapeutic development at Gilead.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to understand operational challenges and deliver technology solutions for Clinical Operations and broader R&D goals
• Lead strategy, implementation, enhancement, support, and optimization of data, integrations, and analytics in Clinical Systems
• Drive CRO integrations with cross-functional teams and external vendors for seamless data exchange
• Lead data migrations and system modernization initiatives; guide data transformation and remediation discussions
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with attention to priorities, resources, timelines, and budgets
• Contribute to Clinical Systems data and technology roadmaps aligned to business priorities
• Design, develop, validate, and deploy scalable, compliant Clinical Systems solutions with cross-functional teams
• Develop and mentor a high-performing team; manage lifecycle activities from requirements to deployment and support
• Ensure solutions meet GxP, regulatory, security, and data integrity requirements; support validation, audits, and inspections
• Drive process improvements, system adoption, and user experience enhancements
• Collaborate with vendors to ensure successful delivery and ongoing support
• Monitor risks and mitigation plans; contribute to budgets and investment proposals
• Promote data-driven decision-making through reporting and analytics
• Ensure adherence to governance and policies

Key requirements

• MS/MA/MBA degree with significant relevant experience
• Experience supporting clinical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare technology environments
• Experience leading technology projects or programs in clinical development or R&D
