Associate Creative Director (Art)

Overview

In this role you shape visual direction for healthcare and pharmaceutical campaigns, guiding art direction from concept to final execution. You will collaborate with Copy, Strategy, Medical, Regulatory, and Client Services to ensure medically accurate, regulation-compliant creative that resonates with audiences. You’ll elevate visual craft across multiple channels and mentor the studio to maintain high standards. This is a chance to influence how science is communicated through design at a leading health agency.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept development and art direction for integrated campaigns across digital, social, CRM, print, and events from brief to delivery
• Direct visual quality and campaign systems, including typography, layout, imagery, and channel adaptations
• Collaborate with Copy, Strategy, Medical, Regulatory, and Client Services to balance creativity, relevance, usability, and compliance
• Present concepts and visual rationale to senior stakeholders and clients, incorporating feedback while preserving integrity
• Mentor art directors and designers, contributing senior thinking to pitches and new business opportunities
• Oversee multiple projects and ensure timely delivery within agency workflows and regulatory approvals

Key requirements

• 7+ years of art direction or design experience in advertising, healthcare communications, or related agency environment
• Proven leadership of conceptual creative work for healthcare/pharma or regulated clients across multiple channels
• Strong portfolio showing art direction across campaigns and multi-channel deliverables with visual platforms
• Experience presenting work to senior stakeholders, explaining concepts, decisions, and audience relevance
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects within agency workflows and regulatory processes
• Mentoring experience guiding creatives through concept development and reviews
