Bid Manager (Construction)

Overview

In this role you lead bid processes for a well-established construction contractor, shaping compliant submissions from invitation to tender through to final bid. You will collaborate with Estimators, Contracts Managers, and Directors to influence logistics, planning, and quality responses. The position offers autonomy, long-term progression, and a tangible impact on winning public and private sector bids. You’ll work in a close-knit team aiming to strengthen market position and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead bid writing and compliance responses for tenders
• Review invitations to tender and perform tender appraisals with the Estimator
• Collaborate with Contracts Managers and Estimators to develop logistics, costings and planning content
• Ensure understanding and addressing quality assessment requirements
• Produce compliant submissions and take ownership from invitation to submission

Key requirements

• Experience writing and managing bids/tenders with compliant submissions
• Commercial construction experience
• Good understanding of construction project sequencing / pre-construction
• Bid Manager / Bid Writer with main contractor background
• Ability to work with Directors and cross-functional teams to shape responses
