Principal Business Analyst, Core Banking (Equation)

Overview

As Principal Business Analyst for Finastra’s Core Banking product Equation, you will shape future capabilities and solve complex banking challenges. You’ll bridge Product Management, Engineering, Services, and clients to translate needs into scalable product solutions. You’ll influence strategy, roadmap priorities, and offer expert guidance on Core Banking functionality and industry trends. Your work will help redefine a globally adopted platform used by many of the world’s top banks, with meaningful impact on product direction and customer outcomes. Responsibilities

• Assess enhancement requests to determine feasibility (existing solutions, configuration, or new development)
• Define and shape new capabilities across Core Banking domains
• Influence product strategy and roadmap priorities in collaboration with Product Management
• Support Customer Success and Support with complex client issues and solution design
• Produce high-quality functional specs, BRDs, process flows, and acceptance criteria
• Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, and Implementation teams to deliver scalable solutions
• Act as trusted advisor on Core Banking functionality and industry trends
• Lead AI-enabled transformation across teams by driving automation, improving productivity, and turning insights into outcomes

Key requirements

• Hands-on experience with the Equation Core Banking platform
• Experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Functional Consultant, Product Specialist, or Subject Matter Expert in Financial Technology
• Strong understanding of Core Banking products, operations, and business processes
• Expertise in deposits, lending, customer account management, servicing, or related banking domains
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
• Analytical mindset with passion for solving complex business problems
