Banking Associate / Senior Associate – Exeter

Overview

In this role you will join a reputable UK law firm’s Banking & Finance team to handle a broad banking slate, from corporate lending to project finance. You will work closely with Corporate, Real Estate and Private Wealth teams on multidisciplinary transactions, shaping funding solutions for lenders and corporate borrowers. You will build lasting client relationships, support junior lawyers, and contribute to the team’s growth. Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of banking and finance matters (corporate lending, real estate finance, acquisition finance, development finance, project finance)
• Preparing and negotiating loan agreements, security packages and supporting finance documents
• Advising clients on funding arrangements, refinancing projects and debt restructures
• Collaborating with Corporate, Real Estate and Private Wealth teams on multidisciplinary transactions
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Supporting the development of junior lawyers and contributing to team growth initiatives

Key requirements

• 3-6 years’ PQE in Banking & Finance
• Strong experience handling banking transactions from instruction through to completion
• Confident drafting and negotiating finance documentation
• Excellent client-facing and relationship management skills
• Commercially aware, proactive and solution-focused
• Keen to play an active role in business development and team success
