Renewable Energy Solicitor (Partner)

Overview

As Head of Renewable Energy at a Birmingham-based law firm, you will lead the renewable energy practice and shape its growth. You’ll partner with clients across the energy and infrastructure sectors on projects, commercial contracts, and regulatory matters to strengthen the firm’s market presence. You will identify new opportunities, develop strategic direction, and collaborate with other teams to build a scalable platform for growth. This is a high-impact leadership role with a clear path to influence strategy and client outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the firm’s renewable energy offering
• advise clients on energy and infrastructure matters (projects, commercial contracts, regulatory issues)
• drive project development, acquisitions/disposals, joint ventures
• identify new business opportunities and grow existing client relationships
• shape the practice strategy and market presence
• work cross-functionally with other teams to enable growth

Key requirements

• Extensive experience advising on renewable energy projects and related commercial matters
• Strong understanding of the energy and infrastructure market
• Excellent client relationship management and business development skills
• Ability to develop and execute a strategy for practice growth
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify new opportunities
• Leadership skills to develop and inspire a team
• Established following and network within the renewable energy sector (advantageous)
