Business Relationship Manager

Overview

In this role you will manage a defined customer portfolio to deliver excellent service and stakeholder experience within SSE’s Major Connections business. You’ll collaborate with senior leaders to align customer needs with our services and RIIO commitments, driving improvements and clear outcomes. You will engage customers through tailored plans and events, resolve complex queries, and communicate risk and progress to leadership. This is a chance to shape customer-centric delivery at scale in a fast-paced energy organization.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with customers and stakeholders to represent their needs and influence service strategy
• Develop and deliver tailored engagement plans including meetings, virtual sessions and in-person events for the allocated market segment
• Collaborate across the business to resolve complex queries and escalations, ensuring coordinated solutions
• Use customer feedback and industry insight to identify opportunities for service improvement and positive change
• Provide clear updates, recommendations and executive summaries to senior management on key interactions, progress and emerging risks

Key requirements

• Proven experience in a customer-focused role with strong relationship and stakeholder management skills
• Strong communication and presentation abilities with ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving to translate complex information into clear messages
• Experience in a fast-paced environment with prioritisation and timely delivery
• Proactive, accountable approach with ability to identify risks and own positive customer outcomes
