Senior Cost Manager

Overview

In this Senior Cost Manager role you lead core Quantity Surveying services on diverse projects across residential, commercial and mixed-use sectors. You will work within RLB’s collaborative, employee-owned culture to drive cost planning, procurement and contract administration for multi-project portfolios. The role offers opportunities to shape cost strategy, support procurement decisions and close out contracts while mentoring others. You’ll be active in delivering customer service excellence and contributing to the firm’s growth and wellbeing-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Cost planning including indicative budgets, appraisals and elemental cost plans
• Run competitive tender processes and manage tender queries
• Pre- and post-contract quantity surveying
• Support dispute resolution and contract close-out strategies
• Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
• Compliance with Commercial, Procurement, and Contractual strategies
• Stakeholder management and development of client accounts
• Prioritise workloads and deliver against deadlines

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline
• MRICS or membership of other relevant professional body
• Experience in Pre-Construction cost planning and estimating
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
• Strong technical delivery experience
• Ability to manage complex projects proactively and diligently
• Feeding procurement advice, tender documentation and post-contract services
• Experience of stakeholder management and client development
