Senior Quantity Surveyor

Overview

Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery for a growing Fire & Security division servicing major retail brands. You’ll drive project profitability from award to final account, with a focus on cost control, variations, and cash collection, while mentoring a small commercial team. Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management of Fire & Security installation projects
• Review contract terms, risks and commercial obligations
• Set up projects commercially after award
• Place and manage subcontractor and supplier orders
• Identify, price, submit and agree variations
• Maximise recovery of additional works
• Maintain accurate commercial and contractual records
• Lead final account preparation and agreement
• Support debt recovery and maintain strong cash flow
• Produce monthly commercial reports on profitability, risks, opportunities and forecasts
• Improve commercial systems, controls and reporting processes
• Manage commercial workloads across the team
• Conduct one-to-ones, coaching and development reviews

Key requirements

• Experience as Senior Quantity Surveyor in relevant sectors (fire & security, M&E contracting, retail fit-out, building services)
• Ability to lead commercial management from award to final account
• Strong focus on profitability, cost control, variation recovery and cash flow
• Experience mentoring a small commercial team
• Track record with subcontractor and supplier management
• Awareness of contract terms and commercial obligations
