We are working with a leading global organisation within the education, technology and professional learning sectors that is looking to engage an experienced Senior Commercial Lawyer on an interim basis to support its operations across the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (MENAT) region. The successful individual will be based in the UK and will report into the UK Legal team.

The organisation has a significant international presence, with activities spanning digital education, professional qualifications and certifications, and technology-enabled learning solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior lawyer with strong commercial experience and an understanding of the MENAT market to take on a highly autonomous, business-facing role within an established international organisation.

The successful individual will act as the primary legal point of contact for the region, providing comprehensive legal support across a broad range of corporate, commercial, regulatory and compliance matters. Working closely with senior business leaders and stakeholders, they will be responsible for identifying and managing legal risks, advising on commercial activities and coordinating legal support across multiple jurisdictions.

Of particular importance will be supporting the organisation's continued growth and strategic expansion within Saudi Arabia. The successful lawyer will play a key role in providing commercially focused legal advice to support business development and operational activities within this market.

Reporting into the UK-based Legal team, the successful individual will operate independently, with significant responsibility for managing legal matters across the region.

This opportunity is offered on a fully remote basis within the UK, with no requirement for office attendance or to be physically based within the Middle East. However, candidates must be comfortable, and have experience in, supporting stakeholders and business operations across the MENAT region.

The engagement is anticipated to commence as soon as possible and offers the potential for an 18 month engagement.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:

- n
- Qualification as a lawyer in England & Wales, or another commonwealth jurisdiction, with substantial post-qualification experience advising on corporate and commercial legal matters.
- Strong commercial legal experience, ideally gained within an in-house environment supporting an international business.
- Experience advising on legal and commercial matters across the MENAT region, with knowledge of the Saudi Arabian market being particularly advantageous.
- The ability to provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to senior business leaders and stakeholders.
- Experience navigating legal, regulatory and compliance considerations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to operate as the primary legal point of contact for a regional business.
- The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and coordinate legal support across different markets.
- Availability to commence a new assignment at short notice.
