Chemical Plant Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Chemical Plant Operations Manager to oversee their facility in Randburg . This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the chemical plant. You will manage all aspects of production, maintenance, safety, and personnel, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. This is a key position for a seasoned professional with a strong background in chemical manufacturing and leadership, tasked with optimizing plant performance and upholding the highest industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily plant operations, ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
• Manage and mentor the plant operations team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance.
• Ensure strict adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and manage the plant’s operational budget and capital expenditure plans.
• Oversee maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in chemical plant operations, with at least 5 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale chemical production facilities.
• Strong understanding of process safety management, environmental compliance, and quality systems.
• Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies is highly preferred.
