Management Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Management Accountant to join the Group Finance team of an established international communication business.

Working closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Director, you will take ownership of month-end close and management reporting across designated group companies, while delivering insightful analysis to support commercial decision-making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close and production of monthly management accounts
• Prepare and review journals, accruals, prepayments, WIP and revenue recognition
• Produce variance analysis, commentary and performance reporting
• Support annual budgeting and rolling forecasting
• Maintain robust balance sheet reconciliations and controls
• Partner with project managers across billing, costs, contracts and project profitability
• Monitor WIP, unbilled revenue and aged debt
• Support VAT returns, year-end requirements and statutory audits
• Drive improvements across finance systems, processes and automation
• Coach and support junior members of the finance team

About you

• ACCA/CIMA Part-qualified or QBE
• Strong management accounting and month-end experience
• Experience of forecasting and balance sheet control
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence using ERP and reporting systems
• Strong analytical and stakeholder-management capabilities
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
• Experience with WIP, utilisation, project profitability, Maconomy or Power BI would be beneficial
