Assistant Manager, M&A Advisory – Financial Services

Overview

As Assistant Manager in Interpath’s Financial Services M&A Advisory, you will help execute M&A transactions from pitch to close, focusing on modelling, valuation, and data analysis. You’ll work closely with senior colleagues across deal stages, contributing to market research, due diligence, and client materials. The role supports growth in the Financial Services sector and involves cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality advisory services. This is a hands-on position with significant exposure to clients and senior leadership, offering a chance to shape deal execution in a dynamic, independent environment.

Responsibilities

• Support execution of M&A transactions in Financial Services
• Handle multiple deals simultaneously with senior team collaboration
• Perform financial and strategic analyses and conduct industry research
• Analyze large data sets and derive client-facing insights
• Prepare data and marketing materials for transaction processes
• Create client presentations in a clear, compelling manner
• Support due diligence processes
• Maintain a database of potential buyers, sellers, and scenarios
• Efficiently utilize research tools and conduct market analysis across industry verticals
• Stay informed on market developments, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting M&A
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with seniority levels and clients

Key requirements

• Relevant transaction experience in M&A advisory, investment banking, corporate development, consulting, or related environment
• Knowledge of Financial Services sector; banking, lending, fintech, insurance advantageous
• Strong financial accounting, statements analysis, and valuation understanding
• Excellent financial modelling ability; build Excel models from scratch
• Ability to analyse large data sets in Excel or Power BI
