Project manager – Greenfield Africa project

Overview

As Project Manager for unmanned offshore assets, you will steer greenfield development and delivery of remote facilities from concept through commissioning. You’ll lead cross-functional teams, manage schedules, budgets and risks, and ensure safe, on-time handover to operations. This long-term contract role sits in a major offshore programme based in Aberdeen, offering hybrid working and IR35 options. You’ll partner with clients and suppliers to drive delivery and operational readiness, shaping the project through governance and robust controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and delivery of projects for unmanned offshore assets
• Manage lifecycle activities from concept to handover
• Develop execution plans, schedules and budgets
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and interfaces
• Control scope, schedule, cost and quality to meet objectives
• Manage risks, opportunities, changes and issues
• Oversee contractor, vendor and stakeholder interfaces
• Support commissioning and operational readiness
• Prepare forecasts and progress reports
• Chair project meetings and maintain governance
• Ensure compliance with procedures and governance requirements
• Build relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders

Key requirements

• Degree-qualified in Engineering, Project Management or related discipline
• Proven PM experience in offshore oil & gas
• Experience delivering offshore engineering, construction or asset development projects
• Strong understanding of project controls, cost management, planning and scheduling
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing contractor/vendor interfaces
• Strong commercial awareness with contracts and procurement understanding
• Experience delivering across engineering, procurement and execution phases
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills
