Health, Safety and Well Being Manager

Overview

As Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager, you will lead a joined-up safety and wellbeing approach across Sellafield’s major projects. You’ll coordinate the integration of safety initiatives from multiple contractors, ensuring consistent risk management and assurance throughout the programme. You’ll oversee learning reviews and incident analysis to drive continuous improvement. This role blends advisory support with hands-on operation to protect people and enable productive, safe delivery in a complex multi-contractor environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate health, safety and wellbeing arrangements across major projects and principal contractors to create a unified framework
• Manage the Learning review process for PDD including factfinding, reviews, intervention calls and incident review boards
• Provide coordination and leadership to align diverse safety initiatives into a coherent program
• Deliver routine HSE advisory, assurance-based compliance activities, and day-to-day operational support
• Conduct audits and maintain risk management, assurance and compliance activities
• Utilise IT tools for reporting and data trends to support decision making
• Maintain strong engagement with site-based teams and ensure drivers’ licensing compliance and travel needs

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree, or relevant management discipline
• CMIOSH accreditation
• Experience in HSE/wellbeing advisory roles within large, multi-contractor environments
• Strong understanding of risk management, assurance and compliance
• Experience in creating and undertaking audits
• Good IT skills: Word, Excel
• Full driving Licence
