Regeneration Programme Lead

Overview

As Programme Delivery Lead, you will steer complex regeneration initiatives in Gateshead from business case to operation, ensuring governance, value delivery and cross-organisational coordination. You’ll work with public and private partners to shape the Urban Core’s growth and investment-driven programmes. The role emphasizes high-impact delivery, strategy execution, and robust planning in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full programme lifecycle from business case to delivery and handover
• Manage viability, planning and milestones with clear critical path visibility
• Coordinate multi-workstream activity and align with the Urban Core Portfolio Manager
• Establish and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) with dependency mapping
• Integrate technical, planning, commercial, procurement and financial inputs into a coherent plan
• Ensure governance, assurance and compliance with funding requirements
• Identify and escalate programme risks, issues, and dependencies
• Coordinate with internal services and partners on commercial, financial and procurement readiness
• Lead stakeholder engagement and reporting to Members and partners
• Build and lead high-performing teams focused on delivery

Key requirements

• Capital programme and regeneration knowledge
• Programme delivery experience in complex, multi-disciplinary programmes
• Financial and commercial understanding in large-scale capital funding
• Governance and assurance expertise
• Planning and programme controls experience (master schedules, critical path, reporting)
