Overview

In this role you will lead the design and optimisation of advanced antenna and RF solutions for demanding aerospace applications. You will work within a specialist engineering team to guide concepts through prototyping, testing and qualification, shaping next‑generation communication, navigation and identification antennas. You’ll push boundaries with electromagnetic simulations and drive full development cycles from requirements to verification. You will lead RF testing in anechoic chambers and collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure technical excellence on time and within budget. Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and optimisation of advanced antenna and RF solutions
• Use electromagnetic simulation tools to solve complex design challenges and maximise performance
• Own the full development lifecycle from requirements capture to PCB design, prototyping and verification
• Lead RF testing, antenna characterisation and measurements in anechoic chambers
• Collaborate with customers, project managers and internal teams to deliver on time and to budget
• Support bids and contribute to technical proposals for future business
• Mentor colleagues and champion continuous improvement

Key requirements

• Significant hands-on experience in antenna design and RF engineering
• Strong knowledge of antenna theory, RF principles, transmission lines, impedance matching and material selection
• Expertise in CST Microwave Studio, HFSS or FEKO
• Experience with RF test equipment including vector network analyzers and spectrum analyzers
• Experience designing active and passive RF and microwave circuits
• Practical experience using antenna test ranges and anechoic chambers
• Strong communication skills for customer engagement and technical discussions
• Design for manufacture and assembly experience is an advantage
• Existing or eligible UK Security Check (SC) clearance is desirable
