AI Native Software Engineer

Overview

As an AI-native software engineer, you will build production-scale, full-stack products where AI plays a central role. You’ll join small, autonomous product teams to shape technical direction from prototype to production, collaborating with product managers and designers. You’ll design agentic systems and governance around AI, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable outcomes for real-world workflows. This is a hands-on, zero-to-one opportunity to define how AI-native product teams operate at scale.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship full-stack capabilities end-to-end, including architecture, data models, backend services, APIs, integrations, AI systems, and UX
• Own meaningful product capabilities from prototype to production, balancing speed and scale with security and reliability
• Design and implement agentic AI-powered systems, including model interactions, tool use, retrieval, orchestration, and guardrails
• Operate within an AI-native engineering model, creating context, tests, CI pipelines, and evaluation systems for safe, high-quality outputs
• Set technical direction, translating opportunities into executable plans and making architecture decisions across product areas
• Own product and production outcomes by staying close to users, using feedback and operational signals to drive improvements
• Raise the engineering bar through rigorous reviews and contributing to shared architecture, tools, and standards
• Contribute to defining how small, AI-native product teams should work as the company grows

Key requirements

• Minimum of 3 years building and shipping production software
• Minimum of 3 years full-stack experience (frontend and backend)
• Minimum of 3 years software engineering fundamentals (system design, data modeling, APIs, testing, cloud-native development, security, observability, production operations)
• Minimum 1 year hands-on AI-native engineering experience (LLM APIs, coding agents, agent frameworks, tool integrations, retrieval systems, evaluation frameworks, or production guardrails)
• Minimum 1 year building reliable AI or agentic systems from zero to production
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (12 years total)
• Demonstrated ability to increase engineering leverage using AI development tools
• Strong judgment under ambiguity and ability to progress with incomplete information
• Excellent communication with product, design, customers, and domain experts
