Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the guild’s AI-enabled engineering roadmap aligned with architecture, security and AI governance
- Lead time-bound research, proofs of concept and prototypes addressing material business opportunities
- Frame ambiguous problems with sponsors and leaders to guide decisions
- Contribute to complex experiments and identify integration, data, security, performance and operability constraints
- Develop cross-guild patterns, reusable components and automated controls for secure development and observability
- Coach teams and improve shared tooling and patterns to increase self-sufficiency
- Own Azure API Management (APIM) and BlackRock Aladdin API platform strategy, roadmap and developer experience
- Ensure platform reliability, security, capacity, onboarding and cost transparency with vendor dependencies
- Lead a specialist engineering team and balance research with live-service obligations
- Measure outcomes such as faster validation, reduced rework, and improved knowledge transfer
Key requirements
- Extensive hands-on software engineering with technical leadership across multiple teams
- Deep API and integration architecture expertise and cloud platform knowledge
- Experience applying AI-assisted engineering beyond experiments and creating reusable capabilities
- Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into validated technical approaches via research and prototyping
