Job Title: Housing Support Worker

Location: Pontypool, Torfaen, South Wales

Salary: £14.24 per hour (including holiday pay)

Employment Type: Contract (flexible hours)

We are recruiting a Housing Support Worker to join a specialist supported housing service in Pontypool. This is an excellent opportunity to support adults experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and/or recovery from substance misuse within a safe, structured environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting residents to follow house rules, maintain safety, and contribute to a positive shared living environment in Roath, Cardiff
• Providing emotional support and practical guidance using a person-centred approach
• Explaining and reinforcing health & safety procedures, reporting concerns appropriately
• Welcoming and signposting visitors/service users, sharing accurate information and guidance
• Working closely with Housing Officers and wider teams to meet individual needs
• Promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion and maintaining high standards of customer care

Requirements & Qualifications:

• A strong, empathetic and person-centred approach
• Experience in social care or supported housing (desirable)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to work across a rota (days/nights/weekends as required)
• Enhanced DBS Check (required) and a clear commitment to safeguarding
• NVQ Level 3 or 5 in Health & Social Care (desirable)
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (where applicable)
