Design Manager – Residential Construction

Location: Central London

Salary: £95,000-£110,000 per annum (proposed, subject to approval)

Employment: Permanent, Full-Time

Ridgeway & Co Recruitment are recruiting a Design Manager for an established main contractor delivering residential construction projects across Central London.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the design process from pre-construction through project delivery.
• Coordinate architects, structural engineers, M&E consultants and specialist designers.
• Manage design programmes, submissions and approvals.
• Identify and resolve technical design issues.
• Ensure design information is coordinated and issued in line with construction programmes.
• Work closely with site management and commercial teams.
• Review compliance with building regulations and project specifications.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Design Manager with a main contractor.
• Residential or mixed-use construction experience.
• Strong understanding of architectural, structural and M&E coordination.
• Experience managing external design consultants.
• Knowledge of construction-stage design management and technical approvals.
• Relevant architectural, engineering or construction qualification preferred.
