Automotive Service Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Automotive Service Manager to lead their busy service department in Randburg . This is a senior leadership position responsible for the overall profitability and operational efficiency of the service center. You will manage a team of service advisors and technicians, drive customer satisfaction, control expenses, and ensure the highest standards of quality workmanship. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership acumen, a deep understanding of automotive repair processes, excellent customer service skills, and a proven ability to meet and exceed financial targets, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the automotive service department, including daily operations, staffing, and financial performance.
• Manage and mentor the service advisor and technician teams, setting clear goals and providing regular feedback.
• Develop and implement strategies to maximize service revenue, control costs, and improve workshop efficiency.
• Ensure exceptional customer service delivery, handling customer complaints and resolving issues effectively.
• Maintain high standards of quality for all repairs and maintenance performed by the team.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on departmental performance to senior management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Automotive Service Manager or similar leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing a profitable automotive service department.
• Strong understanding of automotive repair, diagnostics, and warranty procedures.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using dealership management systems (DMS) and financial reporting tools.
• Ability to effectively manage staff, budgets, and customer relationships.
