​​​​​​​Insurance Defence Senior Associate – Personal Injury & Liability – Belfast

Overview

In this role you will handle high-value insurance defence work from a Belfast firm with a strong reputation. You contribute to defending catastrophic and liability claims for insurers, brokers and corporates, and advise on policy cover. You will work in a well-resourced Insurance team on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters and mentor junior colleagues. This is a senior role offering a platform to shape strategy on high-stakes claims and advance the firm’s specialist practice.

Responsibilities

• Defend insurance claims across personal injury, liability and related areas
• Advise insurers and corporate clients on policy cover and related issues
• Manage high-value, complex High Court files
• Supervise and develop junior colleagues
• Handle catastrophic injury, employers’ liability, and other major claims
• Engage on fraudulent claims Defence and health & safety prosecutions
• Collaborate with a specialist team to support multi-jurisdictional matters

Key requirements

• Senior associate-level experience in insurance defence litigation
• NI qualified, or E&W/ROI qualified with a view to practising in NI
• Strong High Court experience and ability to run complex files
• Ability to supervise and develop junior colleagues
