Job Description Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Caren Location: Derby Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Genuine Progression to Registered Managern Are you an experienced Deputy Manager or senior children’s residential professional ready to take the next step towards running your own home? n We are recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a growing children’s residential care provider in Derby , offering a salary of £35,000–£45,000 and, importantly, a genuine opportunity to progress towards becoming the proposed Registered Manager of their next children’s home . n This isn’t simply another Deputy Manager vacancy. n The organisation is looking for someone with the ambition, confidence and capability to become a Registered Manager as the service continues to grow. n You’ll join the existing leadership team, developing your management experience while playing a key role in maintaining high standards of care, supporting the staff team and achieving positive outcomes for the children and young people within the home. The Rolen As Deputy Manager, you’ll work closely with the Registered Manager and wider leadership team to support the effective day-to-day running of the home. n Your responsibilities will include: n n n Leading, supporting and motivating the residential care team n n Providing guidance, supervision and leadership to staff n n Supporting the development of a positive, child-centred culture n n Ensuring safeguarding procedures and care standards are consistently maintained n n Supporting care planning, risk assessments and associated documentation n n Promoting positive outcomes for children and young people n n Supporting staff development, performance and good practice n n Helping ensure the home operates in line with relevant regulations and organisational policies n n Taking leadership responsibility when required n n Developing your management capability in preparation for progression towards Registered Manager n What We’re Looking Forn We’re looking for someone who is already experienced within children’s residential care and genuinely ready to take on greater leadership responsibility. n Essential requirements: n n n Minimum 2 years’ experience within children’s residential care n n Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare , or equivalent relevant qualification n n Demonstrable leadership or supervisory experience n n Strong understanding of safeguarding and good residential childcare practice n n Confidence to lead, guide and support a staff team n n Resilient, motivated and solutions-focused approach n n Genuine commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people n n Full UK driving licence and willingness to drive as part of the role n n Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who isn’t simply searching for their next Deputy Manager position. n We want someone who can see themselves running a children’s home and is ready to start working towards that next step.
