Overview

As an Information Systems Specialist, you design, develop, configure and support complex applications that enable essential Council services. You translate service and regulatory requirements into practical system solutions, including workflows, integrations, reports and access controls. This senior role involves resolving complex incidents, handling upgrades, protecting sensitive data, and guiding colleagues and suppliers to deliver secure, reliable systems. You will collaborate with service teams to shape how technology supports service delivery and drive digital transformation in education-related services.

Responsibilities

• design, develop, configure and support complex applications used to deliver Council services
• translate requirements into system solutions including workflows, forms, integrations, reports and access controls
• resolve complex incidents, implement upgrades and system changes while protecting sensitive information
• supervise and develop Information Systems Officers and act as escalation point for technical issues
• lead improvements and manage competing priorities in a cross-functional environment
• collaborate with service teams, ICT colleagues and suppliers to influence technology-enabled service delivery
• manage relationships with software suppliers ensuring service quality and contract compliance
• support digital transformation initiatives to improve efficiency and user experience
• ensure education applications comply with information governance, cyber security and data protection requirements

Key requirements
