Senior Blockchain Engineer – Digital Assets Platform

Overview

In this role you will help build the Citi Integrated Digital Assets Platform (CIDAP) as a hands-on Java backend engineer. You’ll collaborate with a distributed team to deliver enterprise-grade web apps leveraging blockchain and web3 tech, solving complex integration challenges with a focus on quality, reliability, and performance. You’ll contribute to architecture, patterns, and documentation while working across global engineering peers. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape Citi’s digital assets platform and its technology stack.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to design and implement web applications using blockchain technology
• Own end-to-end delivery of functional scope for blockchain-based applications while meeting quality standards
• Address solution engineering challenges to satisfy stakeholder requirements
• Apply best practices and design patterns for enterprise web applications
• Apply best practices for web3 applications and patterns
• Use collaborative tools to manage and deliver work in a distributed team
• Contribute and maintain technical documentation for code and applications
• Be a team player and communicate effectively in a distributed team
• Help resolve/escalate issues to deliver projects on time, budget, and with quality

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or Engineering; MS or PhD in computer science or related discipline a plus
• Extensive experience in full software development and testing lifecycle
• Proven backend web development experience with Java Spring
• Experience in web3 application development is a plus
• Experience with asynchronous programming for web applications
• Experience building reliable, scalable, high-performance web apps
• Familiarity with web3 libraries (Web3J, Web3JS) is a plus
• Familiarity with Solidity and basics of DevOps and containerization is a plus
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum) is a plus
