Commercial Risk/Governance Manager (QS)

Overview

In this role you will strengthen governance and drive commercial excellence across a diverse project portfolio for a top-tier contractor. You will work with regional teams to embed robust processes from pre-construction through final account. You will develop governance frameworks, ensure policy and contract compliance, and lead reporting and risk management to support informed decision-making. This is a high-impact position shaping governance across multiple projects and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain commercial governance and procurement frameworks
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, client requirements and contractual obligations
• Provide oversight of contract administration across NEC4, JCT, B&D, PPC2000
• Lead commercial reporting, performance monitoring and KPI management
• Support bid governance, financial scrutiny and risk management processes
• Monitor commercial exposure, variations, liabilities and contractual risk
• Drive consistency and best practice across multiple projects and business functions
• Support project teams in maintaining commercial discipline and audit readiness, including oversight of Large Subcontracts and Main contract packages

Key requirements

• Experience within Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management/Governance in the Construction or infrastructure sectors
• Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT, PPC, and D&B contracts
• Excellent commercial awareness, including forecasting, cost control and risk management
• The ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and challenge constructively when required
