Senior Legal Counsel – Financial Services – Regulatory

Overview

As Senior Legal Counsel you will be the go-to regulatory adviser for a leading global financial services group. You will provide UK and EU regulatory guidance to senior stakeholders and support strategic, commercial initiatives, including digital assets. You will influence how the business navigates evolving regulatory matters and shape high-impact regulatory solutions. This role offers broad exposure within a sophisticated in-house team and opportunities to drive meaningful regulatory outcomes.

Responsibilities

• provide legal and regulatory guidance to senior stakeholders across the business
• advise on UK and EU regulatory matters (EMIR, MiFID II, CRD VI, etc.)
• support strategic and commercial initiatives with regulatory insight
• act as the go-to regulatory lawyer for the business
• work across evolving areas of the financial services industry, including digital assets

Key requirements

• Qualified lawyer in England & Wales or equivalent
• 4+ years’ PQE
• Strong UK and EU financial services regulatory experience
• Strong commercial contract drafting, negotiation and advisory skills (advantageous)
• Experience using legal technology or generative AI tools (advantageous)
• In-house experience via secondment or permanent role (advantageous)
