PFI/LIFT Contracts & Expiry Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead the strategic management and governance of the Trust’s PFI and LIFT contracts, ensuring compliance, lifecycle oversight and effective expiry planning. You will work with senior stakeholders and external advisors to safeguard estates assets and secure value for money, guiding handback and asset transfer processes. The position supports high-quality patient care by maintaining safe, compliant environments and robust contract performance. A strong focus on risk management and cross-functional collaboration underpins your impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic management, governance, performance and expiry planning for PFI/LIFT contracts
• Oversee contract management activities including compliance monitoring and handback planning
• Manage lifecycle oversight and asset transfer activities to protect contractual and assets interests
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders, external advisors and service providers to ensure value for money and risk mitigation
• Provide expert contract management and commercial advice to the Trust
• Coordinate preparations for contract expiry and asset transfer to enable smooth handover to operations

Key requirements

• Degree or equivalent professional qualification in Estates Management, Building Surveying, Engineering, Property Management or Construction
• Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development
• Educational attainment at Master’s level or equivalent experience (desirable)
• Desirable: Chartered membership (MRICS, MCIOB, IWFM, CEng) and related qualifications (PRINCE2, MSP, APM)
• Contract management qualifications or PFI/PPP contract management training (desirable)
• Disclosure and Barring Service check requirements as per policy
